Ron, as a child, was labelled as "Severely Learning Disabled" and considered "Mentally Retarded". Despite his severe learning disabilities, Ron became a successful engineer and businessman.  Ron Davis was functionally illiterate until the age of 38 when he discovered a method that allowed him to read a book for the first time in his life without struggling. 

In 1982, Ron and Alice Davis along with Dr. Fatima Ali opened the Reading Research Council.  Since then the Davis Dyslexia Correction Program has been developed and refined with the additional help of educational academics.
